GB Standard Rail's Classification
Light Steel Rail
Light steel rail is a steel rail weighing between 6 and 30kg per meter, which is a relatively light type of GB standard rail. It follows the GB11264-89/YB222-63 standard. Light steel rail is mainly used in scenarios with low requirements and slow running speed, such as internal transportation in mines, forestry resource development, material handling in factory workshops, etc. It has the advantages of light weight, easy transportation, and easy installation. The common light steel rail manufacturing materials are Q235 and 55Q.
The main types of light steel rail are 6kg, 9kg, 12kg, 15kg, 22kg, 30kg. 6kg, 9kg, 12kg, 15kg, these types have the lightest weight, commonly used in mine tunnels and internal transportation lines of small factories. The 22kg light steel rail has a slightly stronger carrying capacity, making it suitable for medium-sized mine or forestry lines. Heavy Steel Rail
Heavy steel rail is a GB standard rail with a weight per meter of more than 30kg, which follows the GB2585-2007 standard. Heavy steel rail is mainly used in railway trunk lines with high carrying capacity requirements, high operating speeds, and large transport volumes. Such as high-speed railways, passenger and freight trunk lines, and urban rail transit. Heavy steel rail has the advantages of strong carrying capacity and good anti-fatigue performance. The common materials have 50Mn, U71Mn, and U75V.
The main types of heavy steel rail are 38kg, 43kg, 50kg, 60kg. The 38kg and 43kg are the main models of China’s railway; it has high adaptability. The 50kg GB standard rail can withstand higher speeds and greater axle loads. The 60kg GB standard rail is mainly used in super-heavy haul railways.

Crane Rail
